Upcoming 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training Program

200-Hour Vinyasa Yoga

Teacher Training

September 2026

This autumn we begin our 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training

at Yoga Space.

The program is open to dedicated practitioners who feel ready to explore yoga more deeply and spend time studying the practice in a more structured and immersive way.

Deepen Your Personal Practice

For many participants, this training is not primarily about becoming a teacher. It is an opportunity to slow down, look more closely at the practice, and  spend time understanding what sits behind the practice — not just the poses, but how and why you move, breathe, and practice.

Centered around Vinyasa practice and inspired by Ashtanga alignment, The program explores asana, breath, and alignment in a practical way — alongside anatomy, philosophy, and how to build a consistent and sustainable practice.

A Path Towards Teaching — If You Choose

For those who feel to share yoga with others, the training also provides the foundations needed to begin teaching. You will explore teaching methodology, class structure, and the art of guiding a practice in a clear and supportive way.

Whether your path leads toward teaching or simply toward a richer personal practice, the training offers a supportive environment to study, practice, and grow.

What You Will Learn

This training is structured around a few key areas. Rather than covering everything superficially, we focus on building a clear and practical understanding of the fundamentals.

Asana & Alignment

Understanding how to practise and teach postures safely, including alignment principles, common patterns, and how different bodies move.

Breath & Pranayama

Learning how to use the breath to support movement, regulate energy, and create a more steady and focused practice.

Sequencing & Class Structure

How to build a coherent class — from warm-up to peak pose to integration — with a clear intention behind it.

Teaching & Communication

Developing clear cueing, observation skills, and the ability to guide a group in a simple and effective way.

Anatomy (Practical)

A functional understanding of the body — not memorising, but learning what matters for safe and effective practice.

Philosophy & Context

Exploring key ideas from yoga philosophy and how they relate to practice, not just theory.

A Thoughtful Approach to Learning

Real learning takes time, space, and a certain continuity to truly unfold and integrate.

Instead of compressing everything into long, intensive weekends, the program is spread over several months. The pace is steady and manageable, leaving space in between to rest, practice, reflect, and return with fresh eyes (and new questions).

We believe this approach allows the material to settle more deeply — not just intellectually, but through your own experience and personal practice over time, in a way that feels sustainable.

Learning from Different Perspectives

The training is guided by a team with different backgrounds and areas of focus — not only from yoga, but also from fields such as anatomy, philosophy and medicine.

Each brings their own depth — whether in asana, anatomy, philosophy, or hands-on work — offering a more complete and nuanced understanding of the practice.

Rather than trying to cover everything from a single point of view, the program is built around the idea that learning from different perspectives creates a richer and more grounded experience.

Space to Practice, Space to Learn

The set up allows for individual attention throughout.

There is space to ask questions, take time with the material, and properly integrate what you are learning, while keeping the atmosphere personal and supportive.

The pace, the space, and the structure are designed to help you stay engaged without feeling overwhelmed.

To support you, participants also receive class credits at Yoga Space, helping you deepen your personal practice alongside the training.

200-Hour Vinyasa Yoga

Teacher Training

The training will run  from late September 2026 through January 2027.

The program is spread across weekends over several months, with regular breaks in between to rest and integrate what you’ve learned.

This creates a steady rhythm, giving you time to absorb the material, continue your own practice, and return with fresh perspective.

Our team

Our teaching team brings together different backgrounds and areas of focus, from practice and alignment to anatomy and philosophy.

Each teacher contributes their own specialty, perspective, creating a structured and diverse learning experience.

Michael Chia

Michael contributes to the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Space, bringing a grounded approach rooted in a steady Vinyasa practice.

His teaching is supported by clear alignment principles, with a strong focus on understanding the body through direct experience.

He teaches in a grounded and accessible way, keeping things practical and down to earth. Rather than just moving through shapes, he encourages students to explore what they feel, ask questions, and gradually build a clearer understanding of their practice.

The training brings together asana, breath, alignment, philosophy, and anatomy, offering a structured space to go deeper and develop a more consistent and thoughtful way of practicing.

Alongside his yoga teaching, Michael has a background in traditional Thai massage, Yin Yoga, and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), reflected in his hands-on approach to adjustments — with attention, clarity, and a sensitivity that helps students feel more at ease in their bodies.

For him, this training is not about rushing towards teaching, but about taking the time to build a solid foundation, understand what you’re doing, and develop tools that stay with you well beyond the course.

Alicja Kutek

Alicja is a yoga teacher with a steady practice rooted in Ashtanga, supported by experience in Hatha, Vinyasa, and Yin.

Her journey into yoga began early and has grown into a consistent and curious exploration of movement, breath, and philosophy.

She brings a thoughtful and attentive approach to teaching, with a strong focus on alignment, technique, and building a practice that feels both supportive and sustainable over time.

As both a teacher and an ongoing student, she values clarity, patience, and the process of learning. She encourages students to take their time, explore their practice with curiosity, and develop a deeper understanding of what they are doing.

Alongside her work in yoga, Alicja has a creative background and a strong interest in movement and the body, which shapes the way she observes and guides practice.

Within the training, she supports students in refining their technique, building confidence, and finding a sense of ease and enjoyment in their practice.

Dr Mayte Vandenbroucke

With a background in medicine, Mayte brings a clear and practical approach to the anatomy part of the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Space.

She studied medicine in Namur and at ULB, where she is currently specialising in geriatrics.

Along the way, she has worked across emergency care, rehabilitation, cardiology, pneumology, and internal medicine, building a broad and hands-on understanding of how the body functions.

She was drawn to geriatrics for its more global and human approach — working closely with different specialists and looking at each person as a whole, rather than focusing on just one aspect.

Her way of teaching is interactive, engaging, and down to earth. She enjoys making complex ideas simple, using examples, questions, and a bit of humour to help things click and stay with you.

Outside of her medical work, she has a strong connection to movement through a wide range of sports, including karate (black belt), dance, tennis, swimming, running, and surfing. This brings a practical layer to how she approaches anatomy — not just as theory, but as something you can feel and relate to.

For her, anatomy is a tool to better understand the body in practice, helping students move with more awareness, confidence, and ease.

Simon Dwyer

Simon’s interest in meditation and yoga began over 20 years ago and gradually grew into a deeper, ongoing study of these practices.

He spent seven years living and training in an ashram, where he completed teacher training in both yoga and meditation

and became part of the ashram’s management team.

It was there that he started teaching yoga philosophy and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali within teacher training programs — something he has continued to do ever since.

Rather than approaching philosophy as something abstract, Simon focuses on making it relatable and workable. His sessions are less about memorising concepts and more about taking the time to reflect, question, and see how these ideas show up in real life.

There is space for discussion, curiosity, and different perspectives, allowing the teachings to become something personal rather than something to “get right.” Themes like relationships, identity, purpose, and direction naturally become part of the conversation.

In the context of the training, his aim is simple: to make philosophy feel relevant, approachable, and worth engaging with — not just during the course, but in the way you move through daily life.

A few questions you might have

  • I’m not sure if I’m ready — is this training for me?

It’s a common feeling, and completely normal.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you start. If you already have a regular practice and feel curious to go a bit deeper, that’s usually a good place to begin.

For many, it’s less about being “ready” and more about being open — to learning, to exploring, and to seeing where the journey takes you.

  • Am I ‘good enough’?

There’s no real thing as “good enough” in yoga

Yoga isn’t about doing  Instagram poses  — and it’s not about how things look from the outside. We all have different bodies and anatomy, so the practice will naturally look a bit different for everyone.

Everyone comes in with different levels of experience, and that’s completely fine. What matters more is your willingness to show up, stay curious, and be open to learning.

Moving and breathing with awareness — that’s already yoga

  • Can I combine this training with work or other commitments?

The training takes place on weekends, leaving you the rest of the week free for your personal and professional commitments. Around every two weeks, you’ll also have a full weekend off to rest and recharge.

During the time in between, you’ll be encouraged to practice, study, and prepare for your assessments. How much you take from the training largely depends on your level of dedication — the more you put in, the more you’ll get out of it.

  • Is the training physically difficult?

The training can be physically and mentally demanding, and you will be challenged in different ways. At the same time, it’s not about pushing to extremes, but about learning to listen to your body and understand your own limits.

Everyone comes in with a different level of strength and experience. The focus is less on performance, and more on exploring what’s possible for you — both physically and mentally — in a supportive and mindful way.

  • What style of yoga will I learn?

The training is rooted in a steady Vinyasa-based practice, with a strong focus on alignment and a touch of Ashtanga in both structure and flow. We also draw from Hatha to help you better understand the foundations and how to adapt the practice to different bodies.

Along the way, you’ll get a taste of other styles such as Yin, Restorative, Kundalini, and Yoga Nidra — giving you a broader feel for what yoga can be.

It’s also not just about the physical practice. We’ll gently introduce elements of yoga philosophy, so you can start to connect what happens on the mat with the wider context of yoga.
